Our Nannies:
• Minimum age of 20 years
• 2 years full time childcare experience plus a childcare qualification
• 4 years full time childcare experience if no qualification is held
• Fluent English speakers
• Subject to Garda Vetting
Professional Childcare Qualifications: Irish nannies may hold any of the following qualifications:
B.A Early Childhood Care and Education
Montessori/Primary level teaching qualifications
FETAC Level 5 or Level 6 in Childcare
CACHE Diploma in Childcare
NNEB; City & Guilds; NCEA/NCVA
These courses are usually for 1 – 2 years full time, part time or by correspondence.
Nannies from Overseas hold similar qualifications to Irish Nannies.
Nanny Role/Duties:
• The main priority is to stimulate and encourage the child’s emotional, intellectual, physical, social and language development
• Typical duties:
- Taking the children to and from playgroups/schools
- Organising Play dates/additional activities and outings
- Arts and crafts
- Preparation of childrens’ meals
- Children’s laundry and ironing
- Maintaining children’s bedroom and play area
- Attending doctor/dental appointments

Our Nanny Pack:
All permanent nannies placed by Nanny Solutions receive a “Nanny pack”. A useful handbook for parents and nannies, including Health & Safety information and local activity information for nannies.
Nanny Visit:
We visit the nanny at work in the family home approximately 12 weeks after she commences employment.
Nanny Share:
Two families employ one professional nanny and they share the hours, divide the salary and other costs between them. The families decide on how the week is set up.
Our Maternity Nurses:
• Health Care professionals – Midwifes/Public Health Nurses/Paediatric Nurses
• Childcare professionals with a minimum of 10 years full time experience working with newborns
• Fluent English
• Subject to Garda Vetting
Qualifications:

Paediatric Nursing
Public Health Nursing
Other relevant qualifications include any standard Childcare/Nursery nurse Diploma.
Maternity nurses from Overseas hold similar qualifications to Irish Maternity Nurses.
Maternity Nurse Role/Duties:
Experienced in the care and nurturing of newborns and young babies, they provide an invaluable ‘extra’ pair of hands particularly in the case of multiple births. Always on hand to deliver support/advice regarding breast feeding/handling baby.
Typical responsibilities:
• Sole charge of baby
• Feeding,winding,settling baby
• Sterilising/preparation of feeding equipment
• Establishing a sleep routine for the baby
Note:
• Night Nurses are available from 1 – 6 nights per week
• Contracts can be of 6 – 12 weeks duration
• Advance booking is advisable
• Gift vouchers available
Salaries
Permanent Nannies:
Weekly rate: Vary from €500 – €550 gross – 5 days per week/€450 – €500 gross – 4 days per week
Hourly rate: €10 – €12 per hour
Note:
Candidates are employed by the family and have the same entitlements as any other employee
Depends on; Live in/out, ages and number of children, hours, nanny’s experience, specialised care.
Live in nannies earn approx €50 less per week.
Temporary Nannies:
€500 – €550 per week — 5 days
€110 per day
€150 per 24 hours – live in/out
Maternity Nurses:
€250 – €275 gross per 24 hours, depending on candidates experience, 24 hour cover up to 6 days per week.
Night/Day cover also available at €16 per hour for single babies or €18 per hour for multiple births.
Overseas:
Overseas positions generally offer higher salaries – €600+ gross per week for nannies. €1000+ euro for Maternity Nurses
